Note
1.VCT data source  was from the health centers  within our community  as we don’t have VCT service  at our office.
2.Men attendance in the community meetings is higher compared to women while  in  VCT women participation is higher compared to men. The reason being that women are usually very   busy with domestic work  like  fetch water, cooking and farming.

  1.  SUPPORT  TO ORPHANS AND OTHER VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Achievements
In the past  six  months  36   children  were supported  with  shoes, uniforms,  stationeries  and  15 among them  with  food .

 TRAINING EMPOWERMENT FOR PLWHIV
Specific objectives  of the training:
1.To raise awareness among participants to understand their problems in relationship with their status and make strategies that  would make them  take their treatment correctly.
2.To empower participants on positive living,  HIV status & disclosure
3.To raise awareness on the benefits of  IGA’s as one way of dealing with stigma and discrimination
ACHIEVEMENT
60 PLWHIV  sensitized on the  sustainable treatment to be   that follows a series of counseling sessions, VCT and  CD4  checking. Thus  PLWHIV’s should not decide to take  ARV   without this  process.
In all two trainings , PLWHIV were  encouraged to join support groups where they can share experience on the ARVs and its side effects .This will contributes  to better levels of adherence to  treatment.
The participants were introduced to the benefits and consequences  of HIV status disclosure: These include   stress reduction  as  ‘a problem shared can be a problem halved’ ,accelerates medical services, care and support from individuals and NGO’s, help in negotiating for protected sex , prevent  re-infections, reduce stigma such as rumours and plan for future.
The participants were  also  encouraged to adhere to ‘positive living’ , join SACCOS and groups providing loans in order to start projects. They should also net work with those already have project to learn. A  successful project  contributes greatly towards reducing  Poverty related  stigma and discrimination  among PLWHIV.
